
COWLEY COUNTY—A Kansas pilot was fortunate to avoid an airplane crash following an incident just after 8p.m. Tuesday in Cowley County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2014 Zenith Stol CH 75 fixed wing single engine aircraft piloted by Timothy Dextor McCall, 65, Derby, was northbound, north of Udall when the pilot stated he was having engine problems.
The airplane lost altitude and struck an electrical line. He was able to continue his flight to Cook Airport in Rosehill.
