
WICHITA, Kan. – The Wichita Police Department has arrested a 27-year-old Tyne Blunt in connection with the death of her 4-year-old son, according to a media release from police.

The arrest follows a Dec. 8 incident in the 2600 block of South Topeka, where officers responded to a report of an unresponsive child at approximately 3:21 p.m. EMS transported the child to a local hospital in critical condition. The child was pronounced dead at 4:07 p.m.

A 34-year-old Daniel Martin was initially arrested and booked into the Sedgwick County Jail where he was charged with Felony Murder and Child Abuse and remains in custody.
Following further investigation, detectives presented the case to the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office. An arrest warrant was issued for the 27-year-old mother, who was taken into custody and booked into the Sedgwick County Jail on Tuesday, Dec. 16.
