Police: Kan. woman killed in shooting was innocent victim

WYANDOTTE COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities investigating the April 14 shooting at 13th and Washington Avenue in Kansas City, Kansas reported on the Friday the victim died from her injuries.

Just after 3:30p.m. April 14, 0fficers responded to a 911 call of a shooting.

When officers arrived on scene, they discovered a woman later identified as 21-year-old Jadah M. Clark inside a residence, the victim of apparent gunfire.

She was transported to an area hospital with life threatening injuries and died this week. Detectives believe she was not the intended target, but rather an innocent victim of an exchange of gunfire.

As of Friday evening  police reported there were no suspects in custody.  The KCKPD Major Case Unit continues to investigate.
