16-month-old pulled from pool at Kansas home day care

SEDGWICK COUNTY —A Kansas toddler was injured during an incident Tuesday at a home daycare.

Just before 1:30p.m. first responders received a the call of a possible drowning at a home in the 9700 block of south Ridge Road, according to Sheriff's Lt. Benjamin Blick.

 A home daycare provider was swimming in an above ground pool with several children when she noticed a 16-month-old face down in the pool.

She quickly pulled the toddler from the pool, performed CPR and called 911. When deputies arrived girl was conscious and alert. EMS transported the child to a hospital for observation, according to Blick.
