KANSAS CITY— Law enforcement authorities are investigating a shooting Friday near a Kansas City funeral home that left four people injured, one of them critically.
Just after 11:30a.m., police were dispatched to report of a shooting at a Elite Funeral Chapel, 11525 Blue Ridge Blvd., according to Police Captain Leslie Foreman
First responders found three victims who had been shot. One adult female victim was found inside the funeral home, one adult male victim was found inside the laundry mat next-door, and one adult male victim was found outside of the funeral home.
EMS transported three victims to a local hospital. Two were reported in stable condition and one is in critical condition. There was a fourth person who received a minor injury. Preliminary information is that some type of dispute or altercation occurred between people who were at the funeral.
None of the people who were shot were employees of the funeral home, she said. Police did not have any suspects in custody.
