CLAY COUNTY, Mo. —One person died in an accident involving a school bus just after 8a.m. Wednesday in Clay County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2015 Chevy Cruz driven by a 29-year-old Lawson man was westbound on MO 92 at Jesse James Farm Road. The car struck the rear of a southbound 2025 Thomas School bus transporting students for the Kearney school district as the bus crossed the intersection.
EMS transported the Chevy Driver to Liberty Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. A parent transported an 8-year-old female passenger on the bus to Children's Mercy. EMS treated an 8-year-old boy on the bus at the scene. The 60-year-old male bus driver from Kearney was not injured. The Patrol no longer releases names of accident victims.
