POLK COUNTY—A Kansas woman listed as an absconder by the Kansas Department of Corrections was injured in an accident during a high speed chase just after 7p.m. Tuesday in Polk County Missouri.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 1996 Ford Ranger driven by Christina Yount, 53, Lawrence, Kansas, was eastbound on 420th Road one mile west of Bolivar being pursued by Polk County Sheriff's deputies.
The pickup skidded off a curve and struck a tree. EMS transported Yount to the hospital in Bolivar.
Cox Air Care transported a passenger 57-year-old Scott Reed to Cox South in Springfield. They were not wearing seat belts, according to the MSHP.
Yount has previous convictions for Unlawful Manufacturing of a Controlled Substance, Criminal Damage to Property and Fleeing or Attempting to Elude Law enforcement, according to the Kansas Department of Corrections. She had been listed as an absconder since December of 2020.
