KANSAS CITY —Law enforcement are making an impact on shoplifting and theft during the holidays.

From December 9-13, Clay County Sheriff’s Office deputies partnered with Liberty, Missouri Police Department officers and retailers to identify and arrest shoplifters as soon as they’d committed their crimes  in the retail area along Missouri Route 152 in Liberty, according to a media release.

"Operation Full Cart Press" resulted in the arrests of four people, three of whom have been charged. Charges were expected on the fourth suspect.

Combined, the suspects stole nearly $900 worth of items, and one tried to flee from arrest. Deputies and Liberty officers staged around the area last week and swooped in as soon as stores reported thefts. They also were able to recover a stolen car during the course of the operation.
