SHAWNEE COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a suspicious death in Topeka.

Just after 6 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to the 900 Block NE Madison in Topeka on a call for service reference checking the welfare of an individual, according to Police Lt. Jerry Monasmith.

At the scene, officers located the unresponsive individual. Medical personnel pronounced the victim deceased.

&nbsp;Officers and Detectives continue looking into the circumstances surrounding this incident, according to Monasmith. Police have not released the victim's name or a possible cause of death.
