KCPD officers were in pursuit of a red Toyota Corolla taken in a robbery/carjacking, according to Police Captain Corey Carlisle .

The Toyota traveled down the embankment from the entrance ramp to southbound Interstate 435 from Bannister and into the southbound lanes of Interstate 435.
