BARTON COUNTY —Law enforcement are investigating a Kansas felon on multiple allegations after traffic stop.
Just before 5:30p.m. July 17, a police office conducted a traffic stop on a black Ford F-150 pickup in the 100 block of 10th Street in Great Bend, according to a media release. The driver of the vehicle was found to have a No Bond Probation Violation Warrant for his arrest through Barton County District Court.
Barton County Sheriff's deputies responded to the traffic stop to assist, at which time Barton County Sheriff's K-9 Menta was deployed and alerted to the presence of illegal narcotics.
A search of the Ford F-150 pickup yielded 21 grams of methamphetamine, 5 grams of Mushrooms, a firearm, brass knuckles, and a large sum of U.S. currency.
Great Bend Police Investigators and Officers secured a search warrant for a residence located in the 1000 block of Frey Street in Great Bend, Kansas. During a thorough search of the residence, illegal explosives were located inside. Members of the Wichita Bomb Squad responded to process and collect the explosive devices.
Roosevelt Tyree Henderson IV, 38 years of age, was arrested and transported to the Barton County Detention Center on requested charges of Distribution of Controlled Substance, Possession of Methamphetamine, Criminal Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, Possession of a Hallucinogenic Drug, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, No Drug Tax Stamp, Criminal Possession of Explosives and Probation Violation. Henderson has previous convictions for aggravated battery, obstruction, flee or attempt to elude and for drugs, according to the Kansas Dept. of Correcxtions.
