
WYANDOTTE COUNTY —Detectives with the Kansas City, Kansas Police Department announced this week that a suspect has been arrested and charged in a June 5, homicide that took place in the 500 Block of Elizabeth, according to a media release.
The U.S. Marshals Fugitive Apprehension Task Force, assisted by officers with the KCKPD, took 38-year-old Mahir Alihodzic, a resident of Kansas City, Missouri, into custody August 8, in Kansas City, Kansas.
The shooting occurred just before 9:30 p.m June 5. Wheeler was transported to an area hospital where police reported he died the following afternoon..
The Wyandotte County District Attorney’s Office has charged Alihodzic with second-degree murder. Alihodzic is currently being held in the Wyandotte County Jail on a $350,000 bond.
