Police: Discovery of stolen car leads to Kan. drug bust

EDITOR'S NOTE: Michael Perry was booked on revised charges from those originally released from Topeka Police.  According to online information from the Shawnee County Department of Corrections, Perry was booked on requested charges of Possession of opiate, opium, narcotic or certain stimulant  and Use/possess w/intent to use drug paraphernalia into human body

SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating three suspects found after a traffic stop that also led to the recovery of a stolen vehicle.

On Tuesday night, police conducted a traffic stop in the 600 Block of SW Clay in Topeka, according to Lt. Jerry Monasmith.

The traffic stop revealed information directing officers to a narcotics search warrant service in the 1100 Block of SW Clay. During the investigation, officers located methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and a firearm.

As a result officers arrested Charles Goodman, 48; Jennifer Rietbrock, 44; and  Michael Perry, 49, all from Topeka.

Goodman is being held on requested charges of Possession of methamphetamine with the intent of distribution within 1000 feet of a school, Possession of drug paraphernalia with the intent of distribution within 1000 feet of a school and Possession of stolen property. Rietbrock was jailed on requested charges of Possession of methamphetamine with the intent of distribution within 1000 feet of a school, Possession of drug paraphernalia with the intent of distribution within 1000 feet of a school and Possession of stolen property.

Police booked Perry on requested charges of  Possession of opiate, opium, narcotic or certain stimulant and Use/possess w/intent to use drug paraphernalia into human body, according to online booking records.
