Kansas man going to prison for violent child sex crimes

JOHNSON COUNTY—A Kansas man is going to prison for violent child sex crimes.

This week, Judge T. Kelly Ryan sentenced 36-year-old Timothy Ryan Hugo to Life without the possibility of parole for 25-years for aggravated indecent liberties, rape of a child under 14 and aggravated criminal sodomy, according to the Johnson County District Attorney's office. The crimes were committed in 2019, according to online jail records.

He registered a sex offender this week.

In July, a jury found Hugo guilty of two counts of aggravated indecent liberties, two counts of rape of a child under 14 and aggravated sodomy. He has in the Johnson County Detention Center since October 2021, according to online jail records.
