Students injured in Kansas school bus crash into tree

WYANDOTTE COUNTY —Two students were injured in a school bus accident just after 3:30p.m. Wednesday in Wyandotte County.

According to Edwardsville Police Chief Rance Quinn, the school bus was negotiating a curve in the road in the area of 700 Beach Street, turning right. The bus left the road and struck a tree in a yard. The tree damaged several windows on the bus.

Two of the 17 children on board reported minor injuries from falling glass.   Edwardsville Fire and EMS treated the two injured students on scene and they were released. All other students were examined by EMS and no other injuries were found.  All the students, ages 11-15, were released to relatives or transferred to another school bus. 

Police did not release details on the bus driver.
