KANSAS CITY —One person died inan accident just after midnight Friday in Kansas City.
According to KCPD Sergeant Phil DiMartino, a white Toyota Camry was northbound on Interstate 49 at Interstate 470 at a very high rate of speed.
The driver failed to negotiate the curve in the roadway. The car traveled off the roadway to the right and struck a concrete bridge support located underneath Interstate 470.
The unrestrained driver and sole occupant of the Toyota was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced deceased at the scene.
This is fatality #37 compared to #48 at this time last year, according to DiMartino. The accident remains under investigation.
