KANSAS CITY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a shooting on Interstate 70 near Kansas City.
Just before 11:30am Monday, the 911 Center received several calls of a man standing along westbound Interstate 70 in Grain Valley, waiving a gun around. A citizen on the north outer road stopped and confronted the armed man, according to a statement from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The citizen shot the armed man. The citizen was not injured but the other man was. EMS transported him to a hospital and was in stable condition. The citizen is cooperating with investigators.
The investigation is being conducted by the Division of Drug and Crime Control, according to the MSHP.
