WOODSON COUNTY—A Kansas woman died and another was injured in an accident just before 2:30p.m. Monday in Woodson County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2003 Ford Ranger driven by Sandra E. Campbell, 54, Yates Center, was southbound on U.S. 75 five miles north of U.S. 54.
The pickup and the oversized load of a northbound 2012 Kenworth Semi driven by William M. Allen, 56, Manhattan, collided. The impact sent the pickup into a counter-clockwise rotation.
The Ford crossed the centerline into the northbound lanes and collided with a northbound 2016 Ram driven by Juda A. Lake, 69, Manhattan. The Ford overturned in the east ditch. The Dodge came to rest in the northbound lane facing east.
Campbell was pronounced dead at the scene and transported to Campbell Funeral Home in Yates Center. EMS transported Lake to Stormont Vail. Allen was not injured.
