Driver in fatal Kansas crash accused of murder

SEDGWICK COUNTY —The alleged driver in a crash that killed a man in March is facing felony charges. On June 3, police booked Tony Epps, 29, into the Sedgwick County Jail on requested charges of second-degree murder and driving with a suspended license, according to Sedgwick County booking records.

The two-vehicle crash occurred near the intersecion of Maple and Osage, according to Wichita Police Officer Kris Gupilan.  First responders arrived at the crash scene and began rendering life saving measures to a 72-year-old man, later identified as Rockney G. Lindemann.  He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

EMS transported Epps to an area hospital with serious injuries. 

The Wichita Police Department Critical Accident Team and Accident Follow-up Investigators responded to the scene.  Just after he was booked into jail, Epps met the requirement for bond and is no longer in custody, according to online jail records.
