SHAWNEE COUNTY —Authorities are investigating a fire that damaged two homes in Topeka.

Just after 2:30 a.m. Friday, crews responded to a house fire at 1805 SW Lincoln Street in Topeka, according to department spokesperson Gretchen Spiker.

Upon arrival, crew immediately began a defensive fire attack as the blaze&nbsp; spread to home next door, 1801 SW Lincoln Street which sustained significant damage.

No occupants were located in either house, and no injuries were reported. A preliminary investigation indicates the cause of the fire as intentionally set.

The property at 1805 SW Lincoln Street is believed to be a total loss. 1801 SW Lincoln Street also sustained significant damage. The incident remains under investigation.
