
SHAWNEE COUNTY —Authorities are investigating a fire that damaged two homes in Topeka.
Just after 2:30 a.m. Friday, crews responded to a house fire at 1805 SW Lincoln Street in Topeka, according to department spokesperson Gretchen Spiker.
Upon arrival, crew immediately began a defensive fire attack as the blaze spread to home next door, 1801 SW Lincoln Street which sustained significant damage.
No occupants were located in either house, and no injuries were reported. A preliminary investigation indicates the cause of the fire as intentionally set.
The property at 1805 SW Lincoln Street is believed to be a total loss. 1801 SW Lincoln Street also sustained significant damage. The incident remains under investigation.
