
SEDGWICK COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities investigating a multi-vehicle crash that injured seven people including a 5-year-old and have made an arrest.
Just before 4p.m. October 23, deputies were dispatched to an injury accident at 143rd Street East and US-54 in Sedgwick County involving eight vehicles, according to Lt. Nathan Gibbs.
Upon their arrival, deputies located several individuals with varying severities of injuries. Seven citizens including a 5-year-old passenger of a vehicle driven by 27-year-old Paloma Adame of Wichita were transported to local hospitals.
All were treated and released from the hospital. Through the investigation it was found the 5-year-old was not properly restrained and Adame’s vehicle had been traveling at excessive speeds, according to Gibbs.
On January 12, detectives arrested Adame. She remains in custody on requested charges of Attempted Murder in the 2nd Degree and 11 counts of Aggravated Battery, according to online jail records.
Deputies will present the case to the District Attorney’s Office.
