OSAGE COUNTY — Law enforcement authorities are investigating the drowning death of a 2-year-old girl.
Just before 9p.m. Thursday, the Osage County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a possible drowning at Eisenhower State Park swim beach, according to Sheriff Chris Wells. Life-saving measures had been started at the time of the call.
Life-saving measures continued but were unsuccessful. The victim, a 2-year-old girl, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
In addition to Osage County Deputies, Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks, Osage County Fire District #2 – Osage City, Osage County Fire District #3 – Melvern, a LifeSave air ambulance out of Emporia, and Osage County EMS responded to the scene.
The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks is participating in the investigation of the incident.
