SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a pedestrian accident and asking for help to identify a vehicle that may have been a witness.

Just after 5:30a.m. Sept. 3, officers were dispatched to SE 35th and SE Adams in Topeka on a report of an injury accident between a vehicle and pedestrian identified as 41-year-old Robert Stan Williams, according to police spokesperson Gretchen Spiker.

A vehicle struck Williams as he was standing in the southbound lanes of SE Adams. EMS transported him to a local hospital in critical condition. It was later reported another vehicle also struck  Williams. 

Investigators are attempting to identify the driver of a vehicle   believed to be a witness to accident. The vehicle appears to be a light-colored 2008-2014 Chevrolet Silverado extended cab, short bed truck.

Officers made contact with the driver of the other vehicle who struck Williams. He remained at the scene and was not injured.  Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
