SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a pedestrian accident and asking for help to identify a vehicle that may have been a witness.
Just after 5:30a.m. Sept. 3, officers were dispatched to SE 35th and SE Adams in Topeka on a report of an injury accident between a vehicle and pedestrian identified as 41-year-old Robert Stan Williams, according to police spokesperson Gretchen Spiker.
A vehicle struck Williams as he was standing in the southbound lanes of SE Adams. EMS transported him to a local hospital in critical condition. It was later reported another vehicle also struck Williams.
Investigators are attempting to identify the driver of a vehicle believed to be a witness to accident. The vehicle appears to be a light-colored 2008-2014 Chevrolet Silverado extended cab, short bed truck.
