$1M bond for fatal Kansas barber shop parking lot killing

GEARY COUNTY —Bond has been set at $1 million cash for 21-year-old Willie Powell Jr. of Grandview Plaza in connection with the fatal June 11 shooting of 23-year-old Lavincent Perdue in the parking lot of a barber shop in the 700 Block of west 6th Street in Junction City, according to the Geary County Attorney's Office.

Perdue was a Fort Riley soldier.

On Saturday, Powell turned himself into police in Topeka. He is being held on the requested charge of Second Degree Murder

 Powell is scheduled for a status hearing on June 24, according to the County Attorney.
