Mary F. Ward, 73, passed away August 9, 2020, at her home in Great Bend surrounded by members of her family. She was born on April 22, 1947, in Robstown, Texas, the daughter of Manuel & Manuela “Emma” (Granados) Moreno. She married Larry Dean Ward on April 27, 1963, at Great Bend.  He died December 21, 2011.

A lifetime Barton County resident, Mary worked in housekeeping at Great Bend Health & Rehab. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include, two sons, Jake Ward and wife Connie, and Kenneth L. Ward, all of Great Bend; three daughters, Shelley Ward of Great Bend, Melissa Schremmer and husband Tim of Hoisington, and Melinda Petz and husband Carl of Olathe; her mother, Emma Moreno; 14 grandchildren, Lindsey Ward, Ashley Hartfield, Haley Broz, Justin Ward, Dalton Elsen, Dylan Elsen, Ryan Ward, Derek Ward, Kelsea Ward, Madison Ward, Abbie Musgrove, Tyann Schremmer, MacKenzie Harding and Allyson Owen; 23 great grandchildren, Tayven, Tayana, Tamare, Gabrielle, Laelah, Lilo, Jr., Brynley, Benson, Justin Jr., Alexis, Caylee, Gabrielle, Sophie, Gavin, Brandon, Wade, Cohen, Hayden, Jaxon, Beckett, Carter, Benjamin and Anderson; five brothers, Julian Gonsalez, Gilbert Gonsalez, Albert Gonsalez, Robert Moreno and Richard Moreno; four sisters, Alice Delgado, Gloria Gonsalez Snow, Rosie Cain and Teresa Moreno; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Manuel Moreno; husband, Larry Ward; son, Edgar Willis Ward; and brother, Elias Gonsalez, Jr. “Doobie”.

There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 5, 2020, at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Great Bend, with a celebration of life to follow. Memorials are suggested to the Mary Ward Memorial Fund, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
