Kan. teens jailed, 1 hospitalized after school parking lot fight

SALINE COUNTY —One teen was hospitalized after a parking lot fight at Salina South High School.

Just before 9a.m. Wednesday, a witness reported a fight that occurred in the parking lot of South High School involving multiple people, according to a statement from Saline Police.

Two male students a 17-year-old and 15-year-old were arriving at the school when a vehicle occupied with four people arrived in the parking lot and approached the two. A fight then ensued, before the 4 individuals, from another school, returned to their vehicle and fled the area.

Police confirmed the 17-year-old suffered injuries to his face area and was transported to Salina Regional Health Center, where he received treatment. The 15-year-old suffered minor injuries and did not seek medical attention.

At 10:30a.m. two of the four suspects, a 15-year-old and a 16-year-old, from the vehicle were located in north Salina and taken into custody. 

They were booked into the Juvenile Detention Center in Junction City on requested charges of Aggravated Battery.
