SEDGWICK COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a Kansas felon on drug distribution allegations.
Last week, the Wichita Police Department Special Investigations Community Response Team, Violent Crimes Response Team, and Investigations executed a search warrant in the 1100 block of S. Briarcliff in Wichita, according to a media release.
Officers took 29-year-old Diego Briceno of Wichita into custody after he left the residence.
They also seized 164 packages of retail THC products (approximately 227 grams), a gun case, and $14,074 in cash.
Briceno was on pre-trial release for felony murder which took place at the 21st and Maize Dillons in February of 2022. At that time he was accused of aggravated battery, criminal possession of a firearm by a felon and distribution of hallucinogens, according to officer Trevor Macy.
He is being held on requested charges of Felony Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana. He has previous convictions for aggravated assault, criminal possession of a weapon by a felon and criminal threat.
