Police: Kansas man arrested 9 hours after he robbed a bank

WICHITA, KAN. – A federal grand jury in Wichita returned an indictment charging a Kansas man with robbing a bank, according to the United State's Attorney.

According to court documents, Darrel D. Gray, 65, of Benton was indicted on one count of bank robbery. Gray is accused of using force, violence, and intimidation in July 2025, to take money from Community National Bank & Trust in El Dorado. Employees of the bank told police that a man came in with a bag, placed it on the counter and demanded money. After the bank staff complied, they called 911, according to a media release from police.

Police arrested him nine hours after the robbery. 

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is investigating the case.
