JOHNSON COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities investigating a deadly shooting that left 15-year-old Brianna Rachelle Higgins of Lawrence dead have made an arrest.
On Tuesday, police reported they arrested A 17-year-old boy on requested charges of Second Degree Homicide in connection with her death, according to Olathe Police Sergeant John Moncayo.
A friend established an online fundraiser for the family.
Just before 11 p.m. Jan. 19, police were contacted at Olathe Medical Center about a 15-year-old girl who had been driven to the hospital with an apparent gunshot wound.
Police determined the shooting occurred near the 16900 block of West 127th Street. Police have released no additional details.
