SALINE COUNTY —Law enforcement are investigating a violent attack that sent a man to the hospital on Christmas Eve.

The attack occurred in the bathroom of The Blind Pig, a bar at 2501 Market Street in Salina, according to Salina Police Capt. David Villanueva.

The 26-year-old victim was slashed across the neck with a box cutter, leaving a three-and-a-half-inch laceration.  After the attack, Salina police identified the suspect as 21-year-old Jayson Nung Alexander Adams of Salina.

Adams was arrested on requested charges of attempted second-degree murder.

Police confirmed that the victim, who sustained significant injuries, was treated and released from Salina Regional Health Center.

As for the motive behind the attack, police have not yet determined why the attack occurred. The victim, when questioned, was unable to explain why Adams would attack him, leaving many unanswered questions that will likely be addressed during court proceedings.
