SEDGWICK COUNTY—A Kansas man was sentenced on Tuesday for a 2018 murder he committed as a minor.
District Judge Bruce Brown sentenced 21-year-old J'Arim St. Louis of Wichita, to 25-years in prison, according to the Sedgwick County District Attorney's office.
St. Louis was convicted of second degree murder, aggravated battery, aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary and four counts of aggravated assault.
St. Louis was one of several armed young men who robbed Donte Devore of money and marijuana in the 900 block of S. Pineridge in Wichita on February 11th, 2018.
Before leaving, St. Louis shot Devore several times. The 18 year old man died later at a hospital.
St. Louis was a minor when the crime took place. Prosecutors successfully argued that St. Louis should be tried as an adult. Trial started April 18, of this year. Four days later, St. Louis pled guilty before the trial concluded.
