JACKSON COUNTY – Law enforcement are investigating a suspect on drug allegations.

Just after 10:30 p.m. Sept. 9,  a Sheriff’s Deputy conducted a traffic stop on a 2014 Ford Escape at 142nd Road on U.S. Highway 75, according to Sheriff Tim Morse.

A probable cause search was conducted and illegal contraband was found.

The driver, Robert Duane Uitts, 48, of Topeka, was arrested and booked into the Jackson County Jail on requested charges of felony interference, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a hallucinogenic drug, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while suspended, and operating a vehicle without insurance. He has a previous drug conviction, according to the Kansas Department of Corrections.
