A Salina man was arrested in Concordia after an alleged incident with a family member west of Salina.
At noon Wednesday, A 51-year-old woman was driving a 2012 Ford Focus in the 4400 block of State Street when a passenger in the car, Joseph Tholstrup, 31, of Salina, began to argue with her, according to Saline County Undersheriff Brent Melander.
During the argument, Tholstrup began asking for family members addresses. He allegedly held a knife to the woman's throat and then kicked her out of the car, Melander said. A witness saw the incident and called 911.
By the time deputies got to the scene, Tholstrup and the car were gone. Deputies were told that Tholstrup had said he was going to kill family members, Melander said. He was believed to be on his way to Concordia.
The Concordia Police Department and the Kansas Highway Patrol assisted in the search for Tholstrup and located him in Concordia, Melander said. The car also was located there.
Tholstrup was brought back to Salina and booked into the Saline County Jail on requested charges of Aggravated robbery, Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, Aggravated battery, Criminal threat, Theft
The woman was not injured, according to Melander.
