Driver hospitalized after Kan. deputies help end KHP pursuit

JACKSON COUNTY – One person was injured after a law enforcement pursuit ended just after 6p.m. Tuesday in Jackson County.

After a 911 call, Jackson County Sheriff's deputies learned the Kansas Highway Patrol was in a pursuit with a small pickup from central Topeka. The pickup entered Jackson County from Topeka Blvd. on 94th and headed north on U.4 Road, according to Sheriff Tim Morse.

Deputies deployed stop sticks disabling the vehicle. The vehicle left the roadway and the pursuit ended at 142nd and U.4 Road.

Jackson County EMS responded to the scene and transported the driver to a Topeka hospital for evaluation. The Kansas Highway Patrol released no additional details on what prompted the chase or the name of the driver involved.
