JOHNSON COUNTY —A man accused in a deadly stabbing during a robbery has admitted to the crime.

This week, 27-year-old John Daniel Crawford Murray pleaded guilty to second degree intentional murder, aggravated robbery and aggravated burglary in the death of Charles Dillon in October of 2021, according to the Johnson County District Attorney's office.

Just after 11p.m. on October 21, 2021 Merriam police responded to a reported stabbing near Royalty Way and Kings Cove Drive. First responders located a victim, who was later identified as Dillon. He died at the scene.

Merriam police said someone got inside his apartment and stabbed Dillon multiple times. Police said there did not appear to be forced entry. Investigators arrested Murry on Nov. 9,  2021 and his accomplice Devin Braswell the following day.  Murry was in custody in Missouri at the time of the charges for another violent crime.
