🎥 Dr. Lee Norman gives update on COVID vaccination

TOPEKA —Kansas Department of Health Secretary Dr. Lee Norman and Kansas City, Missouri, Mayor Quinton Lucas joined physicians at the University of Kansas Health System Tuesday morning to discuss the progress of vaccinations in Kansas and Missouri.

The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Kansas increased by 3688 to a total of 259,822, the state health department reported Monday afternoon.  Coronavirus deaths were reported at 3525 an increase of 23.

A new phase of vaccinations began Monday in Missouri that allows older people and those with certain pre-existing conditions to be vaccinated.

Missouri health officials on Monday reported at least 11,983 COVID-19 cases in the past week. That's about 1,712 newly reported cases per day.

At least 6,256 deaths in Missouri have been attributed to the virus.
