
JACKSON COUNTY—Law enforcement are investigating a suspect on drug allegations after a traffic stop.
Just before midnight August 9, a Sheriff’s Deputy conducted a traffic stop for an alleged traffic infraction on a Hyundai Elantra traveling northbound on U.S. Highway 75, near 142nd Road, according to Sheriff Tim Morse.
The driver, Clifton Wabaunsee, 44, of Topeka was arrested at the scene and booked into the Jackson County Jail on requested charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of a hallucinogenic drug, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while suspended. He has previous convictions for aggravated battery and drugs, according to the Kansas Department of Corrections.
