SEDGWICK COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating alleged abuse that led to the death of a child.
Just after 3 p.m. Saturday, police responded to a home in the 800 block of South Mission in Wichita after report o an infant not breathing, according to Officer Charley Davidson.
Upon arrival, officers located 1-year-old Myonna Townley in critical condition. EMS transported her an area hospital for medical treatment where she succumbed to her injuries. Townley was also found to have trauma on her body, according to Davidson.
Interviews and the examination of evidence led to the arrest of the girl's 27-year-old mother Neriah Dilley of Wichita on requested charges of felony murder and child abuse. She is being held on a $250,000 bond, according to online jail records.
