SEDGWICK COUNTY —A Kansas man accused in a violent sexual assault made his first court appearance on Monday. Darryl Ford, 61, is charged with two counts of rape, two counts of aggravated criminal sodomy, aggravated burglary, kidnapping, attempted rape, and battery, according to the Sedgwick County District Attorney's office. All charges are felonies except the battery.
Just after 7:30 a.m. Sept. 7, police were dispatched to a Wichita hospital for a Sexual Assault report. A 58-year-old victim reported being sexually assaulted by Ford at a home in the 900 block of West Maple in Wichita, according to Officer Chad Ditch.
After an investigation, police arrested Ford
All are felonies except the last one. Attorneys are scheduled to discuss the case on Sept. 26. He remains jailed on a $500,000 bond.
