SHAWNEE COUNTY –Authorities have identified as Kansas man who died in an accident just after 3a.m. Sunday in Shawnee County as Chance M. Lucas, 28, of Topeka.
According to Deputy Abigail Christian, investigators determined a 2019 Nissan Altima driven by Lucas was westbound on SW 33rd Street when it drove through the stop sign at SW Auburn Road and struck a tree on the west side of the roadway. Lucas was pronounced deceased at the scene.
This accident is still under investigation, according to Christian.
