MANHATTAN—A suspect wanted in connection with a shooting in Manhattan is in custody.
Jamie Smith, 23, of Manhattan surrendered himself at the Riley County Law Enforcement Center Wednesday afternoon.
He was booked on a requested charge of attempted first-degree murder.
Just before 3p.m. Tuesday police responded to the 400 block of S. Juliette Ave. in Manhattan. Officers found 38-year-old woman shot multiple times. EMS transported her to a hospital for treatment of critical injuries.
Smith was observed leaving the scene of the shooting wearing a white tank top and blue jeans and was last seen in the area of Walmart in the 100 block of Bluemont Avenue.
