SEDGWICK COUNTY—Law enforcement are investigating the death of a woman at a home in Clearwater.

Just before 10:30a.m. Thursday, the Clearwater Police Department and Sedgwick County EMS responded to a call reporting a possible death inside a residence in the 300 block of S. Tracy in Clearwater, according to Sheriff's Department spokesman Branden Stitt.

First responders found 45-year-old Melina Hinkle of Clearwater deceased within the home. Another individual, acquainted with Ms. Hinkle, was present in the residence at the time and placed the 911 call for assistance.

The Clearwater Police Department has requested that the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division assume control of the case. The Sedgwick County Coroner’s Office is currently working to determine the cause and manner of death, with an autopsy scheduled for Friday, according to Stitt.
