KANSAS CITY —A Jackson County jury on Thursday convicted a Kansas City man in the 2018, fatal shooting of Donna McKeown, according to Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker.
The jury convicted 47-year-old Damon Kerr of Murder 2nd Degree and Armed Criminal Action.
According to court records, Kansas City police responded on Nov. 25, 2018, to the 3400 block of East 54th Street on a reported shooting. Officers found the victim in the front seat of a Dodge Avenger.
She had been shot in the neck. She was later declared deceased at the hospital. The victim was mother of three children of the defendant, who initially denied shooting the victim. A Jackson County judge will sentence Kerr on May 6.
