WYANDOTTE COUNTY—A police officer is recovering after a stabbing late Sunday in Kansas City, Kansas.
Just before 10p.m., a KCK Police officer was beginning his shift near 47th and State Avenue, according to a media release. An individual who was described as acting bizarre approached the officer in a parking lot.
Without warning, the individual produced a sharp object and attacked the officer. During the altercation, the suspect stabbed the officer twice and ran northbound from the location. Police have not reported they found the suspect.
The officer's injuries were reported a non-life-threatening.
