SEDGWICK COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities investigating a fatal collision have identified the victim as 61-year-old Roger Wilcoxen of Winfield, according to Officer Trevor Macy.
Just before 7 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to an injury accident at the intersection of South Hydraulic and Marion in Wichita. On arrival, they located Wilcoxen who had been ejected from his motorcycle after crashing into a 2005 Hyundai Infiniti driven by a 26-year-old woman.
EMS and Wichita Fire rendered emergency medical aid to Wilcoxen, but he was pronounced deceased on scene.
Investigators learned that Wilcoxen was southbound on Hydraulic when he collided with the Infiniti, which was attempting to make a turn from Eastbound Marion to Northbound Hydraulic.
This is the 29th fatal collision in Wichita this year and the 32nd fatality, according to Macy.
