
FORD COUNTY—The National Weather Service reported a second heat burst in the state this week.
According to the National Weather Service, the temperature at the weather service office at the Dodge City airport at 12:08 a.m. Friday was 77 degrees. The temperature jumped to 91 degrees at 12:17 a.m.
On Wednesday, the weather service reported a similar temperature jump in the Haskell County of Sublette.
The temperature jumped from 67 to 83 degrees at 3a.m. This was the result of a heat burst due to a southward moving storm line that passed in the region.
