SEDGWICK COUNTY—A Kansas sex offender accused in a violent attack on a woman made his first court appearance in the case Wednesday.
Jeremy Fisher, 47 of Haysville, is charged with attempted 1st degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, according to the Sedgwick County District Attorney's office.
Just before 10 p.m. June 3, police were dispatched to a shooting at a residence in the 1900 block of South Dellrose in Wichita, according to Officer Paul Cruz.
Upon the officer’s arrival, they located a 39-year-old woman with several gunshot wounds. She was taken to an area hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The investigation revealed the victim was at the residence with her boyfriend identified as Fisher when a disturbance ensued. During the disturbance Fisher fired multiple shots striking the victim. The suspect fled the scene, and a short time later was located by officers in the City of Haysville.

Police arrested Fisher and he remains jailed on a $350,000 bond. He is due back in court on June 20, according to the district attorney's office.
Fisher has previous convictions for aggravated sexual battery, aggravated burglary and aggravated intimidation of a witness, according to the Kansas Department of Corrections.
