Kan. man jailed after juvenile hospitalized with critical injuries

SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement investigating an incident that critically injured a juvenile have made an arrest.

Just after 7p.m. Friday, police responded to a Topeka area hospital for a report of a gunshot victim arriving by private vehicle, according to Police Lt. Edward Stanley.

Through investigation officers were led to the 1000 block of SE Locust Street in Topeka where the incident reportedly occurred.

One juvenile was identified as the victim and was reported in critical but stable condition.

The Topeka Police Criminal Investigations Bureau responded to the home and later arrested 24-year-old Jaquiez R. Spann-Samuel of Topeka. He remains jailed on requested charges of Aggravated Endangering a Child.
