Small plane crashed into fence after landing in Kansas

BUTLER COUNTY —A Kansas pilot avoided injury in a crash after a landing just after 5:30p.m. Wednesday in Butler County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2026 Fixed wing-single engine Zodiac piloted by Randall Dean McFarland, 68, Augusta, landed in a private landing strip at 11157 SW 75th Street just west of SW Santa Fe Lake Road.

The pilot lost control of the airplane and it struck a fence. McFarland was not injured. The KHP released no additional details.
