Bus fire left Kansas high school football team stranded

MCPHERSON COUNTY —The Marion/USD 408 activity bus caught fire returning from the Kansas Wesleyan Football Camp, just south of the rest area north of McPherson on Friday, according to a social media report from the school district.

All coaches, players and the bus driver are safe and unharmed.

USD 408 Superintendent Justin Wasmuth was traveling to pick up the team and bring them home safely.

The district said they would provide more updates as soon as possible and thanked parents "for your patience and understanding."
